update since school has started.

Well we are on day 3 of first grade for Sara. She seems to be adjusting well to the more work and less play. This is her first year having a male teacher so that has been an adjustment as well. We have set up a new after school schedule that allows Sara to have some free time and also get her homework done and in bed on time. She has mentioned pretty often that she wants more family play time so we put an hour every night during the week for it..and then weekends are just kinda whatever time.

Steven is doing good at work. He is studying really hard for his wings and for his E5 exam. He is a little nervous about his wings since its a verbal board to go in front of. But in my opinion he will do great!

As for me, Im doing better. I am starting to eat better..get out of the house more. I have my first "appt" on the 27th of Aug for my gastric bypass surgery. This first one is just a seminar. But I have to do it so I will. I really just want the surgery to be here so I can be on the road to a healthier me. I have also volunteered to help my friend Beth with some projects she is doing.

In shock!

I am in total shock! One of friends from high school passed away today. I just cant believe that he is gone. Joe and Brittany just celebrated thier first wedding anniversary. They have 2 kids. Mason is only 5 or 6 and little Marriah is only about 2.

I know that I am hugging my family a little tighter tonight. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ernst Family!!

This is an article that was posted by a friend on myspace....

An Albany-area man died and two others were seriously injured Wednesday morning in a two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 20 about two miles east of Eddyville. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation.

According to OSP Sergeant Justin McGladrey, on August 12, 2009 at approximately 8:10 a.m. a 2006 Saab sedan driven by Edward Randolph Johnston, age 62, from Salem, was eastbound on Highway 20 near milepost 26 when it attempted to pass another vehicle using the westbound lane. A westbound red 2008 Honda Civic driven by Joseph Oliver Ernst, age 26, from Albany, first reportedly moved toward the eastbound lane to avoid the oncoming Saab and then steered back into the westbound lane where the vehicles collided head-on. After impact, the Honda came partially to rest on top of a concrete side barrier on a bridge over a creek.

Ernst was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was using safety restraints and the car's airbags deployed.

The Honda's passenger, Gregory Jay Higgins, age 17, from Crabtree, Oregon was seriously injured and transported by Pac West ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Corvallis. Higgins, who was the victim's stepbrother, was using safety restraints.

Johnston was seriously injured and transported by air ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Corvallis. He was using safety restraints and his car's airbags deployed.

OSP troopers from the Newport Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Lincoln County District Attorney's Office, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and members of the Lincoln Multi-Agency Traffic Crash Team are assisting. Local fire personnel and ODOT were on scene and a detour was set up around the area until the highway was re-opened about noon.

An update

Well its been a while since I last posted. Sara completed her 2nd year of kindergarten and did wonderful! She lost her 2 front teeth on the bottom. As for Steven he has picked orders. He put in for Mayport, Fl and Okinawa Japan. He of course is hoping for Japan, and as much as I am scared out of my mind I am also excited! We don't know where we are going or when we are going there. We should find out in the next week or so. This hurry up and wait crap sucks!! As for me, I have been having trouble sleeping. Probably all the stress from orders and money issues. So I went to the dr's and he prescribed me Ambien and also gave me some tips on how to get to sleep with out the meds. I also got a referral for gastric bypass surgery. I have always had a weight problem but diet and excersize just arent working. Now I have wait for the referral to go through so I can get this plan in action. I can not wait. I have never been thin in my life..and I want that sooo bad.

School starts August 18th for Sara. She is very excited. Then a short 3 weeks later she turns 7.

So that's what our life has been like in the last 3ish months.

Gotta give God the glory! (its a long one!)

Well as you probably know we were on vacation for the past 3 or so weeks. It was an awsome time and I really didnt want to leave. I love Oregon and being with my family and friends up there. But I know all good things must come to an end at some point. We were over in Newport saying our last goodbyes and then headed back to my inlaws house to pack the car and head out. As we were comming out of Newport our transmission (so we think) started slipping. We pulled over and the transmission fluid was full. So being that my dad works on cars we thought we would go talk to him. He didnt really know what to say but his co worker told us about this additive that was suppose to stop the slipping. So we added that and were sent on our way. Everything seemed to be going ok, until we got about half way to Steven's moms house. It started slipping again and at that point I told steven that I didnt feel safe to drive it all the way to southern california. We got to his mom's house and talked a bit, we were at the end of his leave period so I told him he better call and see if he could extend. We waited all day for the approval, but finally got it. That all happend thursday. We had to be back in town tuesday night so that Steven could be back to work on wednesday. So that left us with friday and saturday as buisness days to do anything with the neon. So friday morning I got up and called the local transmission shop and found that a diagnostic test was free. So we took the neon over and they had it for a couple of hours. Mean while my sister in law is a car salesman so she was looking around for something for us. The transmission place called us after looking at the car and told us that it wasnt the transmission but the engine was running poorly....we had never had problems with the engine at all so we were a little confused. But we talked to my dad and my brother and they were both stumped too. So we went back to steven's moms to talk about things and look up some car options. We were there only about 15 mins when my sister in law called and asked us to come back to town and look at this car. So we did, but it wasnt for us. So she sent us to another dealership that she thought might have something that would be good for us. We went over and looked and did some paper work. The whole time thinking to ourselves that when we had drivin through the lot the night before and not seeing anything we liked we would never buy from there. Well numbers came back from the bank and they had 2 differant cars on the lot for us to look at that would work in our budget. So the first one he told us about and then had to take a phone call so we walked around it and we didnt really care for it, but agreed to test drive it. I am so glad we did that because we both fell in love with it. But neither one of us were convinced we would be able to get finacing for it. Being that it was a brand new car. Well almost brand new...we would be the first owners but it was a 2008. We went back and told them to go ahead and see if they could come up with the terms that we wanted, those being to get 2500 for our neon and to have our payments between 350 and 400 dollars a month. Well it ended up taking several hours so they let us take the car because we had to go meet with my parents at 430pm. So we did that and we hadnt even been there for 10 mins when the salesman called and said we got approved and he didnt have numbers but the finace guy was happy. So we met with Steven's dad and went to the dealership. They brought out the papers and with out haggling at all we got payments of 352 a month!!! So we took that offer! We did opt to put gap insurance on it so our payments went up to 359 but still...we got it!!

So later that night steven and I were talking and I was switching over the insurance, on the neon we were paying 188 a month for insurance and 269 for the car payment. With the new car..which is a 2008 Jeep Compass, we have a car payment of 359 and our insurance went down to........113! So we did the math we are spending a whooping 6 bucks more!! I was sooo worried about how this was going to affect our budget. I know this is totally a God thing with us having the car trouble and getting a new car. He is so good to us and Im so glad that He was watching over us and gave us the confidince to do what He wanted for us!!!

To my friends....

The first thing I want to say is that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being there for all of you. I know that I have neglected some of my friends..not on purpose but I have. I feel horrible for it. I really dont know what has been going on with me. I havent really wanted to leave my house or hang out lately. I do get out and hang out with some but i really have to force myself to do it.

I'm really hoping that by me starting to work out and eat right that I will be back to the old me. The me that didnt blow off friends. That was here for everyone.

I want to thank all of you for sticking by me. It really helps knowing that just because I need time to work on me that you arent leaving me.
